If You’ve Lost it!
We’ve Found it!

We have an over abundance of clothing articles that are collected each month. In fact, we just donated 66 pounds of clothing that was left unclaimed during the months of December and January. If your child has lost a coat, hat, etc., please have them stop by and check for missing items. Beech Hill is working with a local church and all unclaimed items will be donated the last week of each month.
Congratulations
Nancy Saroyan,
BHES Teacher of the Year,
And
Amy Pitts,
Rookie Teacher of the Year.

Congratulations to James Hearn
Technology Teacher of the Month
James Hearn is a 5th grade, single gender ELA teacher. James is a get-it-done kind of teacher. He doesn't believe in fluff or bells and whistles. By using common technology, James was able to strengthen the skills his students needed. In his quest to teach organization, main idea, and supporting details to his students, each of his students created autobiographical PowerPoints and presented them to the class.
Studentes learned how to organize and present information independently using PowerPoint technology. Both the male and female single gender classes were analyzing and synthesizing while working with the technology. Their focus and intensity during the lessons were beyond anything they would have experienced with mere paper and pencil.
Dear Parents,
Thank you for participating in our first on-line survey and providing us with a snapshot of our BHES world. We have much to be proud and though perfection is near impossible, we will continue to strive for excellence. We will periodically recruit your input and perspective to help us gauge the health and success of our school. We value your input and ask that you continue to share ideas, concerns and suggestions through emails and letters. The School Improvement Council meetings are also a great place to share these ideas and concerns. Dates for the rest of the year are: March 4, April 1 and May 6. The meetings are held at 8:00 in the morning. Please join us and help to make our school better and brighter.
Keep shining,
Rene Wyatt Harris, Principal

As an opportunity to connect our 5th grade boys and assist them in their transition to becoming young men, each 5th grade male students will receive a neck tie to commemorate his education at Beech Hill Elementary School. The breakfast is designed to provide each student with a positive experience with community members who will present a tie that symbolizes a defining moment in his life. The student will learn to correctly tie and wear the tie as a reminder of maturity and his role model.
If you are interested in donating a tie and/or participating in the ceremony, please contact Susanne Loving at Beech Hill Elementary School.
Thank you for your support!
Beech Hill is excited to offer enhanced parent access through our website. Once registered for an account and connected to your enrolled student(s), you will be able to view school and classroom information and announcements using a centralized, easy to navigate system.

Locating Student ID Numbers
Each student has a unique twelve-digit ID number starting with 380010.... This number can be found on a student report card from 2008-2009, Facts and Fees paperwork as well as on student cards that will be sent home. Student Nutri-kid numbers can also be used.
